“Of Fragility and Impermanence” is out!
It's with great joy that I finally share my newest album “Of Fragility and Impermanence” now available on most digital streaming platforms. Accompanying the release is a promo video, created by my dear friend and fantastic director Bruno Carnide.
“Of Fragility and Impermanence” is my reflection on fragility, change and passing of time. The album is out on Robalo Music and it has the support of Fundação GDA, Antena2 and Centro Musibéria, featuring José Soares, Raquel Reis, Samuel Gapp, João Hasselberg and myself.

Deeply grateful to JazzTrail for hearing the emotions woven into Of Fragility and Impermanence.
This work is born from moments of fragility, of impermanence, and of quiet reflection — and it feels profoundly moving to see that resonance reflected back through attentive listening.
“Flawlessly arranged, “Of Fragility and Impermanence” is emotive and layered without becoming ponderous. The ensemble plays as a true collective, bringing Carvalho’s vision to life with honesty, musical depth, and imagination. It is an album to be discovered slowly, preferably in the quiet of the night.”
“Portuguese bassist and composer André Carvalho releases “Of Fragility and Impermanence”, a collection of 12 tracks that firmly situates itself on the left side of the jazz spectrum.”

“Carvalho leva ao palco uma obra que convida à escuta profunda e à contemplação, confirmando um percurso artístico cada vez mais consistente e justamente reconhecido.”
I had a great time talking with CoffeePaste about the new album “Of Fragility and Impermanence”. Great questions which took me on a trip to discuss what’s behind my latest project.

Interview for Gerador, where I talk about “Lost in Translation”, its genesis, the recording and the whole process.
Cerebral e sensorial, Lost In Translation não pode ser meramente rotulado como free jazz ou pós-bop – aparententemente, o tipo de jazz que compõe este disco é, também ele, intraduzível.
